'Its gonna be wasted music'- Here’s why Prince Kaybee is not releasing new music

Prince Kaybee has no plans to release music any time soon.

If you wondered why Prince Kaybee has not been quite the producer and DJ, he said if he did it would be wasted music and he will only come out of the woodwork if there's an opportunity. 

Taking to Twitter a fan of the DJ's music asked him why he wasn't releasing any new music projects,

“KB. Do you have new music bro? There's a clear unignorable void [sic] in the music scene in South Africa and it's your touch that's missing. Please release soon or advise me on any new projects you've released. You're a great artist, I enjoy your music,”  tweeted the fan.

“In my opinion, there’s enough music out there. Amapiano is cruising nicely. Will release music once I see an opportunity to. For now, it's just gonna be wasted music because people are still in a trance of TikTok sensation.”

In his mentions fans showed him some love, with others reminiscing about the last album he released. 

“I get what you saying Kabelo ... They slept on The 4th Republic. Still not OK deep down. Please release when the chance and space shows itself (sp). Some of us are still Cruising nicely on Gemini and 4th Republic,” said one Twitter user. 

The DJ had previously equated the lack of 'hype' behind his 22-track album The 4th Republic to the high demands of the amapiano genre.

After a fan expressed on Twitter that Prince Kaybee's album was not “pushed enough” after its release in March last year, the DJ and producer concurred and said it was “fumbled”.

“Yeah it was fumbled, but part of it is the dominance of amapiano, the majority of people want amapiano. I was playing at a club two weeks ago and a girl approached me asking when am I playing it and also why am I not dancing like Waffles.”
