While this past weekend was event-filled, with concerts and festivals taking place in Johannebsurg and the Western Cape, wedding bells were ringing when Springbok player Eben Etzebeth and Anlia said "I do" on Saturday at the La Paris estate in Franschhoek.

Images of the rugby star and his bride have been circulating on social media, with many flooding their posts with congratulatory messages following their engagement last March.

Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and his wife Rachel were among the guests at their ceremony.

Social media sensation Tshepi Vundla and Idols SA judge and music producer JR Bogopa are another celebrity couple set to walk down the aisle.

The two stars, who have son Sibabalwe Lehakwe and daughter Liyema Leru Bogopa, have been together for many years and took their relationship to the next level when Tshepi revealed JR asked for her hand in marriage.

In early February JR and Tshepi hosted close friends and family members at a celebration of their union as part of  customary wedding ceremonies.

“We didn’t have a wedding but a family welcoming and celebration (which serves part of the process of getting married), made of close friends and our family on Saturday. It’s no secret Tshepi and I concluded our lobola process in December and this was our next customary step,” JR told TshisaLIVE.

JR said reports they got hitched were misleading.

“It's not as specified in the article which is flawed in many ways, including having children from a past marriage/relationship.”
