Annie Mthembu has got candid about her past and getting an abortion.

Speaking about spirituality in a recent episode of the Engineer Your Life podcast, Annie said before she met her husband Kgolo she went through a period when she didn't want to set foot in a church because she felt ashamed of her past.

The Real Housewives of Durban star revealed she had an abortion and her husband helped her overcome the guilt she felt.

“Before I started dating him I was scared of God. I had an abortion and that made me ashamed to a point where I couldn't walk into church without crying. I couldn't face God, I wanted to hide from him, I didn't want to talk to him,” she said.

Annie has been married to her husband for nearly two years since tying the knot at the luxurious La Paris Estate in the Cape winelands in 2021.

Despite rumours of her husband allegedly having an affair, Annie does not cease to gush over her hubby.

When celebrating their anniversary, the couple expressed their love for each other.

“We’re on an ultralight beam, this is a God dream. Happy anniversary, my light. May God deliver us serenity. Deliver us peace. Deliver us loving. Always. I love you.”
