Sivanna, Siv Ngesi's alter ego, has channelled Whitney Houston to celebrate Pride Month.

Worldwide, June is a gay pride celebration, and Siv Ngesi said he has an exciting performance coming up from Sivanna.

Taking to his Instagram timeline he shared a teaser of the full performance that is to come.

“Sharing Sivanna’s full performance on Monday for #pridemonth ! I love doing drag #drag queen.”

When he started his drag journey, Siv was met with a lot of criticism but that did not stop him. When he started he was supported by South African drag artist Manila von Teez.

He shared an appreciation post to Manila, calling her drag mother.

“This queen makes all of Sivanna’s clothing, does her makeup, coached her voice work as well as her body movement, gestures, poses and mannerisms! There is no Sivanna without Manila! Thanks for all you do for the Art of Drag and your drive to see the Artform prosper throughout the community! It's an honour to collab with you and I can't wait for the world to see what's coming,” he wrote.

From one celebration to the next, Buhlebendalo Mda and her partner Botshelo Mondi are set to host an event dubbed “Colors of Love” on June 30 focusing on healing queer creatives through yoga, sip 'n paint, and other activities.

The singer hosts conversation sessions with Botshelo about issues surrounding the LGBTQIa+ community through their shared Instagram page Bees on the Couch.

“We talk about queer rights and queer stories. It's a healing space for queer people, we are going to be closing pride month with healing through movement and conversation, people should come and heal while being gay,” she tells TshisaLIVE.
