L'vovo Derrango has withdrawn from performing at Cotton Fest Durban as per doctor's orders.

The musician, who was booked for the highly anticipated music and lifestyle festival set to take place on July 2 at Kings Park Stadium outer fields, said his doctor advised him to take it easy until he is fully recovered.

In December 2022, L'vovo suffered a minor stroke after wrapping up a performance in KZN and was rushed to the hospital. Since the accident, he has taken time off work.

He says the doctor said he could return to work around September. In a statement shared with TshisaLIVE, L'vovo penned an apology to fans and the festival organisers, saying he would have loved to have made his comeback from the incident at the event.

“The past few months have been one of the toughest periods in my life ... I've literally had to watch my life flash before me. Through it all, I've received unwavering support from my fans, family and friends. I've been in constant engagement with my doctor these past few days about my condition,” he wrote.

“I'm sorry to announce that after lengthy discussions, we have taken a decision not to perform at the Cotton Fest this weekend. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused, and I hope to partake in the festival in the future when I have fully recovered.”
