Lynn Forbes is on a mission to leave a positive influence on the world and change the way middle-aged women are perceived in society.
In her newly launched podcast Outspoken Owls, with her close friend Katie Mohamed, they shared views on what it means to be in a midlife crisis.
Lynn, 55, said while many thought there was not much to life for after 50, she found more opportunities in her older years.
“They would say life starts at 40, but actually life stopped kind of at 50 and there was not much more to look forward to. Now we find ourselves in a very different position. Older, more mature people, have opportunities and have more to look forward to and do. So the crisis is really an opportunity,” she said.

Previously speaking to TshisaLIVE, she said her podcast aimed to have more conversations about middle-aged women while appealing to a younger audience.
“I believe in ageing gracefully with purpose. I want to be here for a long time and make sure there's a positive experience for as long as I can, so I need to do the right things. I need to make sure I'm fit.
“I believe the things I do have to be what speaks to me, and self-care is important to me, which includes wellness and soul care, which is that I am deserving of all the things I do in taking care of myself and having a good quality of life for as long as I can.”
