When TshisaLIVE asked about the speculation that Gagasi has a “toxic” working environment, Sphe said: “If that was the case then I would not have come back. I enjoyed our first season here and so far this one is even better.
“Regular check-ins with management, weekly DJ meetings and a very dope camaraderie throughout the station.”
In 2018, Sphe and Naves as Kings Of The Weekend released a smashing single Bhampa featuring Beast which became a dance floor anthem across the country.
“The KOTW and Beast are definitely family. The biggest song in the SPHEctacula & DJ Naves catalogue is Bhampa with Beast and we have had some very dope releases with him, so if we do make an EP or an album he would always be a part of it. It’s organic and exciting for the three of us.”
The pair say they're working on a new project in the studio, putting the final touches for their music fans.
“New music is definitely on the way. We are looking at wrapping two or three half-baked songs, now and then adding them to the other five to see where we end up. Would be nice to drop before Durban July weekend,” said Naves.

Sphe Ngwenya and Lebogang Naves want to be kings of weekday radio.
They are one of the pairs unveiled by Gagasi FM last month as having joined the station as hosts of weekday afternoon drive time show The Gagasi FM Fast Lane alongside Zisto.
TshisaLIVE spoke to the pair on their appointment at the station.
“The response we have been receiving is that it’s the energy and the vibe that the afternoons have been missing. Even people scrolling through stations get to us in the afternoons and stay there. All that is very encouraging feedback to hear,” said Naves.
Sphe said their show is a firm favourite for them all.
“The beautiful thing about the show is that all the features were brainstormed and decided by the three of us so the entire show is a firm fave for us all. What has been blowing my mind lately is the reaction to Reality Check, where we get to discuss pertinent topics with listeners and a feature called 'KwaMlungu', where they share funny stories of what happens at their offices with us,” he said.
