Manyi's too tight to mention

"What we've got here... is failure to communicate." These are the words of prison boss Captain, played as a mean, imperious sum-beech by Strother Martin in Cool Hand Luke.

And, more recently, the persona adopted by the government's chief communicator Jimmy "Two Lines" Manyi.

He gives you two lines only. All the time. About anything.

Ask for context, depth, detail, clarity? You get the same two lines.

This superzero is impervious to reason and logic. Both of which dictate that you should not accept a job as cabinet's spokesman if you hate dealing with the press.

He wins the contest for Mamparadom this week.

Why? See the two lines above.
