In response to Justice Deputy Minister John Jeffrey saying white men dominate South Africanlaw firms, the sad thing about statistics is that they are just numbers and they don’t represent the story behind those numbers.

To some extend those numbers represent progress.

Is that not what South Africa has been fighting for and trying to achieve for the past 19 years?

Is that not what every economical body wishes for?

I, for one, am glad that more than one ethnic group is represented in law.

These statistics are a great reminder to our country that we are going somewhere and hopefully they challenge more than just those who were previously disadvantaged but also those growing up in democratic South Africa for their experiences are not those of an oppressed and tense country but those of a growing and active country.
