Twitter goes down

Twitter is down across the world.

Twitter is currently thanking people for noticing that its service isn't working.

According to the Guardian, Twitter gave them an error message that said it was “over capacity” at 8:20am GMT (10:20am SA time).

"Thanks for noticing - we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon," its error message reads.

"Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution," Twitter said on its status board.

According to their site for developers - user streams are the only thing that is currently working. We would link to that, but it appears to have gone down since we started writing this article.

The service had previously gone down yesterday for about ten minutes - with Twitter saying that they had resolved that problem.
