The road to modelling stardom is paved with treacherous agents who can derail your career - even if you're Kate Upton.

Despite being dubbed the "prettiest girl in the world" by Elle magazine, not all agents agreed. But the 22-year-old American said she never caved to the agents' expectations.

This after her full figure was referred to as "healthy", something that may not be a compliment in her industry.

"To me, agents don't necessarily understand the realities of the industry; they're sitting behind a desk," the UK's Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

"I never listen. I'm fine."
