Police and emergency service personnel were attending to reports of a cash-in-transit heist on the R34 in northern KZN on Wednesday morning.

Sources with knowledge of the incident say that the armoured truck‚ traveling between Richards Bay and Melmoth‚ was fired at.

This follows another attempted cash heist in Nqutu on Tuesday.
