Millennials in the US say they would rather purchase something on Amazon than buy alcohol.

This is according to a recent survey conducted by PR firm Max Borges Agency, which questioned more than 1,100 youngsters to assess the spending habits of millennials.

Based on the research, 77% of young people said they would choose Amazon purchases over alcohol, while only 44% said they would pick Amazon over sex.

Nearly two-thirds of the millennials surveyed (61%) use Amazon for tech purchases. A similar number (60%) use it to buy clothing, shoes and jewellery, while 50% rely on Amazon for beauty and health products.

In terms of tech purchases, more young people used Amazon to purchase headphones (54%) than smartphones (29%).

About 61% make their purchases late at night, with 45% visiting the app on a daily basis. Only one out of four millennials said they would continue trying to purchase a consumer tech item if they could not find it on Amazon.

According to CBS, Amazon enjoyed its most successful shopping days in history in November thanks to Cyber Monday and Black Friday, which grossed $7.9-billion and $6.2-billion respectively.
