A fuming Pitso Mosimane was was hugely critical of referee Thabo Nkosi after the official disallowed Bongani Zungu’s goal in the dying minutes of their 1-1 draw away to Mpumalanga Black Aces on Wednesday evening.

The Mamelodi Sundowns coach blew his fuse in the final minute of the match when Zungu put the ball in the back of the net from close range, but Nkosi, who initially appeared to have pointed to the halfway centre line for a restart as a signal of a goal being legitimately scored, reversed his decision and signalled for a foul on goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane.

"I think Thabo [Nkosi] must be the man of the match hey? Thabo did very well, he stole the show!, fumed the former Bafana Bafana coach in his post-match interview with Super Sport.

The draw put a huge dent into the Brazilians pursuit of defending their Absa Premiership title as they now trail leaders Kaizer Chiefs by seven points with six matches remaining.

“If the league (title) is gone (from us), we’ll know how it has gone. What’s hard is I work so hard, so hard and someone just takes it like that,” added Mosimane, insinuating that referee Nkosi’s decision has ended their title chase.

“It’s unbelievable! We spent the whole year fighting to win and protect the league but now we’ll have to rely on favours.

"I think we gave it our best... But what do you say to your players after all this?" questioned Mosimane.
