TELEVISION shrink Dr Phil McGraw's former wife Debbie Higgins McCall has been selling coffee mugs with their wedding picture on the front and one of his sayings on the back, reports the National Enquirer.

According to McCall, the mug - which reads "What the Hell were you thinking?" - sums up her feelings about their brief but troubled union.

The former high school cheerleader married McGraw in 1970, when they were both 20 years old.

The marriage crumbled when, she says, she discovered he had cheated on her with numerous women.

But the 53-year-old TV shrink describes the end of his first marriage differently. He says: "We never had a cross word. We just sat down and said, 'Why did we do this?' "

Their marriage ended in 1974. McCall remarried and raised four children but her second marriage didn't work out either. She now lives with her boyfriend.

She runs a store near her home and has had to cope as her boyfriend is undergoing chemotherapy for colon cancer.

However, the www.the1stmrsphil.com website is doing so well that McCall has sold her first batch of mugs.

A friend says: "This is Debbie's way of getting even with Dr Phil and the fact that he lied about their relationship."
