Matriculants who cannot afford the perfect outfit for their matric dance can now hire one - at absolutely no cost.

An initiative called Cinderella's Wardrobe was launched this week to appeal for public donations of dresses and suits, which will be used to give needy matrics their dream outfit.

A Cinderella's Wardrobe rail has been installed in the Bride&co's factory outlet in Illovo, Johannesburg, at which donated garments will be on display for selection.

This is an initiative of Bride&co and Eurosuit, in collaboration with the Johannesburg Junior Council, a non-governmental organisation of junior councillors from some 40 secondary schools in the province.

Matrics who cannot afford an outfit for their big night will be required to submit a motivation form and, upon approval, they will be able to pick an outfit.

A deposit of R200 will be payable, but will be refunded on return of the outfit.

Members of the public who wish to participate in the project may drop off dresses or suits at the Illovo outlet.
