Salman treated for neurological condition

Salman Khan may be overjoyed with the blockbuster status of Bodyguard, but the superstar had to skip all the celebrations.

Treatment

Khan, who was diagnosed with a neurological condition, underwent successful treatment in Pittsburgh, US, last week and spent three days under observation. Keeping the actor company during his treatment, was brother Aarbaaz Khan and sister Alvira Agnihotri. Salman will take it easy for the rest of the year and will work only on Ek Tha Tiger.

FEUD

RUMOURS are rife in the industry that Golmaal actors Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade are at loggerheads with each other. The problems began during the shooting of their movie Hum Tum Aur Shabana, when Talpade offered jobs to Kapoor's staff members which resulted in a war of words between the actors. Kapoor hit back by throwing a party on the movie set without inviting his co-star.

DEATH

AFTER the demise of the legendary Shammi Kapoor, Bollywood has now lost another talent. Acclaimed director Jugmohan Mundra, who was responsible for movies such as Bawander, Naughty at 40 and the socially impactful Provoked, died a week ago of organ failure. Mundra, who also directed Hollywood flicks such as The Jigsaw Murders and Night Eyes, was working on a project based on the life of the president of the Indian National Congress Party, Sonia Gandhi.

CHALLENGE

RAKESH Roshan's Krrish 3 promises to be one the most challenging movies made by the director, who has in the past made blockbusters like Kahoo Na Pyar Hai and Koi Mil Gaya. Roshan's son, Hrithik, will head the cast with Priyanka Chopra and Vivek Oberoi has been signed as the villain. Chitrangda Singh, who was cast as a mutant, has now been replaced by Jacqueline Fernandez. Singh says she opted out of the project due to date issues, but insiders claim she was not happy with her mutant transformation in the script.

HIT

VENKAT Prabhu's Mangatha is likely to become the biggest hit in Ajithkumar's career. The film marks Ajith's 50th film and has opened worldwide to positive reviews and ecstatic enthusiasm from audiences. The film is supported by a hit soundtrack by Yuvanshanker Raja.

NOT TRUE

RAAGAVA Lawrence has denied a tiff between himself and lead actress Anushka that led to her walking out of the Telugu movie Rebel. The Tamil-Nadu media widely reported a major disagreement between director Lawrence and lead actress Anushka. The reports claim Lawrence was targeting Anushka as she had earlier refused to act in Kanchana.

LAUNCH

THE audio launch of the Surya-Sruthi Hassan movie Yezhaam Arivu will now take place in Chennai on September 22. The date was changed twice and this marks the third venue announced for the launch. Written and directed by Ghajini-fame AR Murugadhaas, Yezhaam Arivu will be an unusual combination of science fiction, history and romance.

STEPPING UP

MIRCHI Shiva, who made a dream transition from radio jockey to the big screen, is all set to make his debut as a director. The star of Thamizh Padam and Saroja plans to make a film on the Indian interpretation of the destruction of the earth. Shiva will also play the lead role.

HONOUR

FILM fans throughout the world are gearing themselves up for International Sivaji Ganesan month (October 1 to 31) to honour the acting university of India called Sivaji Ganesan. Film festivals, special shows and commemorative programmes will mark the occasion.
