TAMARA CHERIE
From dresses to blazers, this show was a masterclass in beautiful tailoring. Metallic fabrics and fringed detailing added a glamour and interest to the structured silhouettes Cherie sent down the runway.
TUELO NGUYUZA COLLECTIV
Colour best sums up this collection which featured a bold palette of bright yellow, purple, teal and blue. For us, the long, flowing feminine dresses were the standout pieces, including the contemporary bridal gown which closed the show.
SPERO VILIOTTI COUTURE
This show failed to tick the boxes for us. Too many colours, too many patterns and too many silhouettes gave the collection a somewhat disorientated feel.
MILLE COLLINES
From casual looks to corporate wear, it was clear that simplicity was key in this collection, which featured a predominately neutral palette amped up with an occasional pop of colour. Many of the clean-lined looks were complimented by oversized headwraps.
DAVID TLALE
On Day 1, Tlale let his interns’s designs take centre stage (see their designs), but last night was his turn in the spotlight.
The fact that Tlale sent a parade of male models down the runway in their underwear –and the occasional motorbike helmet – was certainly a talking point. However, it was his stunning gowns in shades red, neutral and black, which featured a masterful mix of textures and ornate detailing, that reminded us that Fashion Week is an event where spectacular things happen.
