You don't need a fat wallet to enjoy the views from the world's tallest hotel

The 356m-tall Gevora Hotel in Dubai is now selling day passes to its sky-high pool deck

Two months ago, Dubai broke its own record for the world's tallest hotel, with the opening of the 356m Gevora, which pipped the emirate's JW Marriott Marquis by just 1m when it opened in February.
With average nightly rates of around 650 AED (R2,000) per night, a stay in the new building is not for everyone.
But now visitors to Dubai can take in the spectacular views without breaking the bank - the hotel has announced special day passes to its pool deck on the 12th floor.
Offering views of the surrounding skyscrapers on Dubai's skyline, the deck features a 25m-long pool that includes a 4m section for children.
A weekday pass costs 150 AED (R500), while a weekend pass costs 200 AED (R660), and includes free access to the viewing deck on the hotel's 75th floor.
The hotel has an elevator that can get people from the ground floor to the 75th floor in 38 seconds, five restaurants, and a health club with sauna, jacuzzi and kids' pool. See gevorahotels.com..
