Mampara of the week: Sebetja Matsaung

Mosebenzi Zwane was a strong candidate for this week's Mampara trophy for his performance in parliament, until Mamparatsaung came into the picture. Matsaung, an evidence leader in the disciplinary hearing of former Eskom acting CEO Matshela Koko, hurled insults and threatened Financial Mail deputy editor Sikonathi Mantshantsha for asking him a question after the hearing was adjourned on Friday.
"You see me sweet and smiling and you think I am a naai? I will take it out now, boss, the African way. Come and smile like a little faggot," the lawyer told Mantshantsha.
Koko must be given an opportunity to explain his role in awarding multimillion-rand tenders to a company linked to his stepdaughter without such sideshows. Eskom must be applauded for showing this Mampara the door...
