Mampara of the week: Markus Jooste

HE'S THE DOF IN STEINHOFF
There are many ways to describe Markus Jooste. Yunus Carrim, the chair of parliament's standing committee on finance, came up with a good one on Wednesday when the former Steinhoff CEO emerged from exile in Hermanus to tell MPs his hands and heart were clean.
Carrim said Jooste had failed in his attempt to portray himself as "the Mother Teresa of Steinhoff". The DA's David Maynier reminded Jooste that one of his own associates had a succinct way of describing him: "A f***ing psychopath."
The ANC's Nyami Booi described Jooste as forgetful: "On the day of your resignation that's the last day your memory worked." With respect to parliamentary comrades, there's an even better way to describe this slimy character: a mampara for the ages...
