Before his death, Akhumzi Jezile and his friends were spending time together and started singing a song that would later prove to be an emotional moment for those he left behind.

A video of the TV star singing the words: "have you ever loved someone so much it makes you cry?" was shared by his best friend Musa Mthombeni this week and true to its words, brought many of us to tears.

Akhumzi gave his all during the rendition, touching all of the feels as he closed his eyes to concentrate on the words.

The comments section of the video was filled with fans and friends paying emotional tributes to the star, who will be celebrated at a memorial service on Thursday at Rhema Bible Church in Johannesburg.

Akhumzi died along with Thobani Mseleni, Siyasanga Kobese and two others in a horror car crash over the weekend. The head-on collision just outside of Queenstown in the Eastern Cape on Saturday killed all the passengers in the car.

Speaking for the first time since his friend's death, Musa told the Trending SA panel that he spent many hours wondering how he would say goodbye to a person he loved so much

"My dearest best friend, my brother and my partner in crime. When people said your name, it was always followed by mine. And that's what you were, my other half... the other half of this equation. The person responsible for the man that God continues to  shape me to become today.

"You are my brother and you are everything people said about you that was good," he said, before reciting a poem called You Never Said Goodbye by an unknown author.
