Always one to push the envelope with music, Ishmael has partnered up with the Kwela Tebza trio to give Mzansi a December hit.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Ishmael said for him featuring on the song called Jabula was a no brainer.

"I received a call from Kwela Tebza asking to collaborate on a track and, as soon as I heard the beat they sent on Whatsapp, I was immediately sold. I loved the concept because it was about going home in December after working in the big cities all year. I knew a lot of South Africans can relate," said Ishmael.

Of course, it helped that the studio sessions were epic.

"I had so much fun working in the studio with the guys, cracking jokes and just having a good time. It's a happy song and it humbles me as it makes me look forward to going home and spending time with my loved ones this festive season. I would like it to remind us to never forget where we come from."

Speaking to TshisaLIVE in a recent interview, Ishmael said that returning to music after a short break was easy when it was the one place his creativity flowed the most.

"I don't know why I always bounce back as far as music goes, but I think it's because I'm highly motivated. Music itself motivates me. Every time I listen to new music and new artists doing different things it fascinates me and helps me always want to create something new as well."

Ishmael said he planned on gifting the world with music for as long as he lives because that's part of his purpose in life.

"There are lot of things that have happened to me but the one thing I am sure I was born to share this talent with the world. And as far as music goes, I don't even have a genre I love. I just love music and go wherever the creativity flow takes me."
