Trevor Noah and Kanye West's “feud” topped the entertainment news charts this year, with South Africans weighing in on the drama.

In a March episodes of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah weighed in on the Ye, Kim Kardashian, and Pete Davidson unending social media spats.

Taking to Instagram, Kanye posted a snap of Trevor and lyrics to Kumbaya

“All in together now ... Koon baya, my lord. Koon baya. Koon baya, my lord. Koon baya. Oooo’ lord Koon baya,” wrote Ye.

Trevor said women are often asked why they don't leave on abusive relationships and claimed Kanye's alleged attitude towards Kim was an example of what happens when women leave.

“What she is going through is terrifying to watch, and it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave,” Noah said.

“What we're seeing is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world, unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her.”

Trevor shared his own experiences with abuse, recounting how his mother was allegedly told she was “overreacting” before being shot in the head by Noah's stepfather.

In October Trevor said he was not beefing with Kanye.

“I was never beefing with Kanye West, I was concerned about Kanye West,” he said.

He revealed his grandfather had suffered from bipolar disorder, and he understood a little of what Kanye was going through.

“My grandfather was bipolar and one thing we knew in the family was ...” Trevor paused to explain that he did not mean the rapper had bipolar disorder. “I'm just saying my grandfather had bipolar, and one thing we knew was when he was having his episodes ... we could support him and check if he took his medication.”
