Tulani Madala, popularly known as Tulz, is grateful for a fruitful 2022 and after making a comeback on the airwaves, he plans to take over the small screens as well in 2023.
Lasting for a record-breaking 10 weeks without being nominated for eviction on season 3 of Big Brother Mzansi, returning to YFM after nearly six years, co-hosting with Ayanda MVP and being able to give back have been some of his biggest highlights.
“I've come to learn the importance of self-belief. Based on all the things I've been able to accomplish from donating to the less privileged in winter, being a finalist on the biggest and most-watched TV programme in South Africa showed me that I must believe in myself.
“I want to continue working on radio. The past couple of months have been amazing for me, they made me realise how much I love and appreciate the platform. Speaking and entertaining the masses is truly a blessing so I want to take that further in the upcoming year.” he told TshisaLIVE.
Beyond his success, the star has overcome anxiety.
“I overcame anxiety, I'd even say borderline depression. Coming out of the house I had so much attention. A lot of it was negative and a lot of it positive at the same time, but it caused me a lot of anxiety to a certain extent. When you have so many people looking at you it's easy to feel alone. But I have been able to overcome that and I am very happy about that.”
The challenges he faced this year have showed him how equipped he is to accomplish and achieve his dreams, he says.
“I'm very gifted. I always believed I'm good at certain things. This past year has showed me that I am not just good but I am gifted, not in an arrogant type of way but I am truly gifted.”
Having the love and support of his friends, family and followers, Tulz says he's ready to show more of what he's capable of.
“In the year 2023, I am working on a few things that will help viewers see me on the screens. As much as I love and enjoy podcasting and broadcasting in the form of radio, the past couple of months I've really appreciated being on TV more. I am thankful for the people that believed in me, even when I didn't.”
