If Langa Mavuso has cut ties with you, best believe your privilege to attend his shows is over.

There are many unwritten rules about what to do when relationships end but what this musician will not let you do as his ex, is bring your partner to his shows.

“No matter how much you love my music, if you’re dating my ex, please don’t bring him to my shows or don’t let him bring you to my shows.”

In a separate post he explained why.

“You guys can’t gently sway to our failed love story. Write a new song,” he wrote.

In his mentions his followers were wilding at him, saying his request is unreasonable and unrealistic.

“And what if I don't know ya'll are exs, and the person doesn't mention it. It's not like we ask ppl to list their exs.”

His album Langa, which launched in September in 2021, was birthed from going through heartbreak and Langa told TshisaLIVE he planned to continue being as vulnerable with his next album.

“I'm excited to even start working on the second album ... I'm going through a break-up, so this next album might be about a break-up or a make-up, we don't know, but we'll see,” he chuckles.

Speaking of the lessons he had learnt from his previous break-up, Langa said: “Sometimes it is the best thing that could happen. Sometimes we want to distract ourselves from dealing with the things that we're dealing with and that doesn't work. It's important to sit in the pain, to feel it, to grieve whatever you've lost. Dealing with something that is stressful requires a rebirth of sense. It takes time. The healing process is painful and ugly. Eventually you have a rebirth of a kind ... I've learnt that things take time.”
