Prince Kaybee has announced he's terminated his contract with Universal Music Group.

Since signing with the record label, the DJ and producer had publicly aired his grievances with the company claiming he was being sabotaged.

On Monday, Prince Kaybee took to his social media timeline excitedly announcing he had finally parted ways with the record label with the caption “Free after 8 years".

The statement from the record company shared by Prince Kaybee revealed he no longer had any contractual obligations with it.

“The parties have agreed to mutually terminate the agreement with effect from April 3 2023 and UM releases you from the delivery of any further recordings in terms of the agreement. UM shall continue to commercially exploit the recordings, account and make payment (if due) to you in terms of the agreement. We thank you for the opportunity of working with us and we wish you every success in the future,” read the statement.

Though Prince Kaybee has been looking forward to leaving UMG, he got candid in a series of Twitter posts saying he felt unsettled by the venture as he'd never gone on his own before.

“Now I have all this power I’m not used to, I can do whatever I want but its so foreign to me I’m even panicking.”
