In March 2020 during the Covid-19 lockdown Minnie opened up about how she was struggling to cope with her brother's passing.
"Having work to distract me was the biggest blessing, but you can't run away from your problems forever. This lockdown has given me too much time to think especially about losing my brother ... and I'm not coping."
"The pain is unbearable! I don't know what to do, kubuhlungu," she said.
After her brother's burial Minnie thanked those who had been there for her and the Dlamini family while they were grieving.
“Words cannot justify how blessed my family is with amazing people who supported us with everything they could. People never left our side for 23 days and continue to be there for us. We could not have done this without you all. We love you so much,” she wrote.

Minnie Dlamini has shared candidly her pain a week after her brother's birthday.
She took to her Instagram timeline this week to share her grief over losing her little brother, Khosini Dlamini.
"Every breath I take is a reminder that he breathes no more," she said.
