We haven't seen The Real Housewives of Johannesburg star Christall Kay on our TV screens in a minute.

She is no stranger to the reality show business and when she was asked to be a contestant on The Picture Perfect she grabbed it with both hands.

Christall told TshisaLIVE she was surprised when she got the call to be part of the celebrity reality show coming to e.tv on July 23.

“I was going to start in three days' time and I didn't have too much of a moment to think about it, so it was very spontaneous. I never picked up a camera in my life. At first I thought it was a makeover show and then I realised it was photography and we had to hone our skills. I'm thinking let me give this a shot and let's see how it goes.”

The reality TV star opened up about how challenging it was for her because of her history with a fellow contestant. The pair had a very publicised altercation which she previously spoke to TshisaLIVE about.

“There was quite a twist in the tail of me enjoying the show. There was another contestant on the show and we've had a big run in before. I would not have done the show if I knew that person was there. But I didn't know. It was not the greatest environment for me. It was quite something to continue but I'm proud of myself that I did and I got through.”

On the reality show viewers had a front-row seat into Christall's life when she was pursuing her music. She said she was still on that path.

“I'm singing and working with a US-based producer and record company and hoping to get a single out in the next few months.”

Sunday World reported on Christall's lengthy legal battle for her house. She said she was happy to put the matter to rest after finding out she won the Supreme Court of Appeal case.

“I'm also still working on getting my home sorted out because I had a big drama with my house and I won the case after three years. So I look forward to getting my home back now and I'm waiting to get to my bright light in Los Angeles.”
