'It’s too soon to take anything to heart' — Cornet Mamabolo encourages 'new' Thabo on 'Skeem Saam'

Former Skeem Saam actor Cornet Mamabolo has motivated Hungani Ndlovu to keep going after his debut on the show received mixed reactions. 

On Monday Hungani's character T'bose, which was previously played by Cornet before he left the job, made an appearance on the popular daily drama series.

Taking to his Twitter timeline, Cornet told Hungani to hang in there and keep doing his best because that is what the craft (acting) requires. 

“Risk. risk. risks! Bag of tricks (invite memory), artistry, & play! Play Sir Hungani Ndlovu, it’s too soon to take anything to heart. PLAY MY BROTHER, JUST PLAY. Coz that’s what it is, a PLAY! Our profession requires us to play and when we are tired of playing we tap out,” wrote Cornet. 

Replying to the encouraging words, Hungani appreciated the actor's advice. 

“It’s the only way, my brother. The PLAYING has begun! I won’t take anything to heart, not today, not tomorrow. You know, we’ve been doing this for decades. I appreciate you, king,” he replied. 

A similar thing happened in showbiz not so long ago when Wiseman Mncube took over from Bonko Khoza to play Mqhele on Showmax's The Wife. He too was met with mixed reviews with some calling for Bonko to return.

Bonko took to his Twitter timeline reacting to the critics suggesting that he played the role better.

“I pray one day the audience and the creators can be on the same page because there’s a real disconnect between what happens behind the scenes and what the public sees. This character does not belong to me.

“It belongs to Sis Dudu and Showmax. Meaning it can be played by whoever they see fit. As for me, I did my fair share. And now it’s time to give other actors a chance on the same big platform that I got given a chance,” he wrote.
