Kat Sinivasan recently made his television comeback and does not plan on stopping any time soon.

The media personality, popularly known as a presenter for the prestigious E! Entertainment show, was recently unveiled as the new addition to the cast of House of Zwide.

“It feels great. I’m always at my happiest when I’m performing. I really took my time trying to find the right role for me. As a host I didn’t want a character that was too close to my personality, I wanted a challenge,” he told TshisaLIVE.

He plays the role of Zola, a character he says has a duality to his personality and he's borrowed references to create the dynamic character in a way that he assumes will captivate the viewers.

“He’s a really charming and passionate guy but at the same time he’s controlling and misogynistic. I researched a few characters that I thought had a likeness to Zola. So for example The Weekend as Tedros in The Idol is passive-aggressive and manipulative and Michael Ealy as Beau Willie in For Coloured Girls is unhinged and deranged.

“Well I definitely wanted a challenge and I got it. I do think it’s a great opportunity for me to show my range and I’m pretty sure Zola’s journey will be an interesting one to follow.”

As a media personality, Kat hosts events and shows. As a public figure he has a jewellery collection out in collaboration with Black Betty Designs, and as a thespian, he has stepped into a new role using his qualification from the National School of Arts.

“I’m currently working behind the scenes as a director and creative producer for upcoming shows that are in development and I can't wait for people to see them.”
