Baby Oliver and Sammie make their first big public appearance at Nasty C's album launch

Nasty C's listening session was a fun-filled family affair and a true depiction of the new chapter of fatherhood he's just entered. 

Ahead of the release of his fifth studio album I Love It Here, set to launch on September 15, the rapper hosted media associates, industry colleagues, friends and family at Zwartkops Racetrack in Centurion to get an exclusive listen to his new offering. 

Singers Manana, Sishi, Blaq Diamond's Siphelele Dunywa, social media sensation Primo and Maglera Doe Boy and 25k, who feature on the album, were among the celebs at the star-studded event.

"I see the way my friends look at these new changes in my life and it inspires them. They are so respectful and happy for me," Nasty C told TshisaLIVE.

Nasty C's girlfriend, popularly known as Sammie Heavens, was also in attendance with their two-month-old son Oliver. 

"Sammie hasn't been out in a long time because she's been taking care of the baby, so she had a lot of fun. It wasn't planned for them to come out. I'm very happy they did. I had so much fun with them being around. This was Oliver's first time out to a function."

Sammie and Oliver's voices can both be heard on the album.

"It was really dope, we had a lot of fun. Making this project was such a wholesome experience. There was so much love and good energy in every room we were in. 

"Sam is an actual poet, she is sick. I really wanted to have her on it. She did a four to six-bar poem at the end of the intro. I also featured my son. I took his cries and things like that and put them on his song."

On the night, Nasty C was gifted a Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 as well as a diamond and platinum plaque after he achieved 828,444,681 streams on all streaming platforms.

"It's a nice pat on the back. It really keeps us going as artists at times when you feel like maybe your music has gone a little stale. Whenever you see those numbers come back at you, you realise the fans are still really tuned in. You're going to change as an artist, your sound and story are going to change, but the fans are still rocking with you 

"When you get those kinds of rewards, you get to hang them up on the wall and look at them every day. It's an affirmation. It gives you positive energy to keep going every day."

The Eazy hitmaker's recent public performances have included his tribute to the late rapper AKA, and his album launch was no different. 

Nasty C performed his latest single RIP as well as AKA's Lemons (Lemonade), which was their last collaboration song together.

"I just miss him. When he was here, I didn't tell him as often as I should have told him how much he meant to me. I'm very lucky that we spoke a lot about it towards the end. 

"There was a time when I was in LA and we were just on the phone, showing each other love and giving each other our flowers, so I wanted to just continue doing that. I'm not ready to just forget about him like that. He played a really huge role, not only just in my life, but in a lot of South African lives, especially Muslims. I want to remember him for a little longer."
