Industry colleagues, close friends and others have taken to social media to pay tribute to Nhlanhla Mbambo.
According to the Daily Sun, Mbambo died at the age of 54 after a long illness that affected his work.
“He died yesterday [Tuesday] after a long illness. I cannot divulge much detail except that we are deeply hurt and shocked. It was not expected,” Nhlanhla's brother Sbusiso told the publication.
Mahoota was among those who took to their timeline to share tributes.
"#RIPNHLANHLAMBAMBO #goneway2sooon,” he captioned a post with a picture of Nhlanhla.
On social media, tributes to Nhlanhla continue to flood the timeline, with many reflecting on his marriage to Brenda Fassie, which made front pages in the media.
The lavish 1989 wedding had Yvonne Chaka Chaka as matron of honour with Rebecca Malope and Mercy Pakela as bridesmaids.
