Kwaito star Kabelo Mabalane and his actress wife Gail are still deeply in love.
During their recent sit-down interview with The Makhs, the couple who have been together for 12 years and have two children together, shared what they loved most about being married to each other.
Gail gushed over her relationship with Kabelo saying getting married at 28 years old was the best decision she ever made.
“It really gave me direction and purpose, and helps steering what it is that God is trying to do through me. There is a lot of power in unity so I'm grateful that I married him because I just feel like my purpose is clearer. And with us being unified, I find that Kabelo is my best friend and we have created a world for ourselves where we get to share this life thing together,” she said.
“To have somebody to do life with is really a blessing because you can have fun, you can have success and all these things but he does sharpen me. When I'm weak he gets to be the stronger one.”
Kabelo shared the same sentiments when asked the same question, saying he enjoyed doing life with someone with a great sense of humour and undeniable beauty.
“People don't know how funny she is. We laugh at each other, we laugh at other people, we laugh at situations. She's gorgeous.”
The Mabalanes don't shy away from gushing over each other publicly, especially when marking a milestone in their union.
When celebrating their wedding anniversary, Kabelo wrote: “This time nine years ago I was getting ready to become a husband to an incredible woman. I mean just look at her, she’s as beautiful inside as she is outside.
“Exceedingly, abundantly, above what you might think, ask or even imagine truly does exist. Happy ninth anniversary, my baby, Gail Mabalane. Like we always say: let’s keep failing forward.”
Reflecting on their love journey, Gail professed her love for Kabelo on her timeline.
“Time does fly when you’re having fun. Thank you for the best years. I love you stukkend! To failing forward. To our best years which are still ahead of us. Happy anniversary.”
