Family trapped in car by snow

A family of three were trapped in their car due to heavy snowfalls near the town of Kokstad in KwZulu-Natal on Monday. Road Traffic Inspectorate's Zinhle Mngomezulu said the family was warned by traffic officers not to venture further when their car became entrapped in the snow on the R617 in KwaZulu Natal. "A mother‚ father and child were trapped in the car. Emergency services rescued them‚" she said.It was not clear if they were snow chasers or locals. She said three trucks were also trapped in the snow in the same area."We are experiencing adverse weather conditions. We appeal to motorists to adhere to the warnings‚ to switch on their lights and keep a good following distance‚" she said.
