The Aladdin official trailer is out and Will Smith is the Blue Genie
Walt Disney Studios on Tuesday revealed the trailer for Aladdin. Even bigger news is that Will Smith will play the blue genie, the star of the show.
The movie, directed by Guy Richie, is an adaptation of one of Disney's biggest and most well-known animations and is expected hit the big screen on May 24.
The movie also stars Canadian actor Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Power Rangers star Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar.
A full 27 years after the release of the Aladdin animation, fans were overly excited to see the Disney story retold.
At first, people criticized Will Smith on being Genie, and now the new trailer has been released, they just instantly changed their mind and started to picking up on Jafar’s voice instead. Well, as a die-hard fan myself, i’m seeing it anyway. Period

I actually like this new take on the Genie in #Aladdin now that I've seen more of him in the final trailer. #WillSmithGenie #WillSmith

I cannot wait to hear Will Smiths version of “friend like me.”

Yeah I’m kinda sold on this new #Aladdin! I love the way it looks, the visuals look great, Will Smith actually looks like he’ll do a great job and doesn’t seem as much like ‘Will Smith playing a character’ like he kinda was in Suicide Squad. All and all looking forward to it! pic.twitter.com/nEG3mhMMw8
