Could this be Joburg's answer to Whole Foods?

Jackson's Real Food Market Eatery offers a wide array of wholesome groceries, not to mention brilliant burgers and artisanal breads, writes Hilary Biller

Surrounded by shelves groaning with health products like whey powders in myriad flavours, dehydrated bone broth and wholesome alkalinity-boosting green "milkshake" powders, I was inspired to go green myself in selecting a wholesome breakfast at Jackson's Real Food Market Eatery.Grab a trolley while you wait for your grub as the market is worth a sniff around. Apart from the plethora of health-food products, it sells a limited range of organic and naturally reared meat and chicken.
There are lots of veggies and fruit (a good buy were the organic oranges at R15 for a small pocket) and eggs. There's a wide range of dairy and dairy replacements, readymade meals (lots of Banting), biltong, and even wine. Then there's the inspired bread selection of long fermented sourdoughs for which they are famous - shelves of warm, freshly baked loaves, from ryes in different flavours like sun-dried tomato, herb and garlic, to gluten-free and low-carb breads.
For those seeking a solid brekkie of good old bacon and eggs, there's a farmer's grill with the works (R99) and even polenta topped with bacon and fried eggs (R65) or chicken livers, wraps and omelettes.
Jacksons Eatery is open all day, offering light meals, unusual salads, sandwiches and potato fries cooked in beef tallow - and a vast array of health juices and smoothies.
You got to love the burgers, huge ones like the grazer groaning with beef, gherkins, red onion, emmentaler, tomato, mayo and lettuce (R79), and a tempting array of sweets and pastries including artisanal natural ice cream in different flavours (R40)...
