How would you describe your style?
Clean and refined. We don't like unnecessary ornamentation, so we strip the design of a product to a point where the details are considered and add value to the piece. Our colour palette is neutral and we appreciate the beauty of natural materials.What are your favourite materials to work with?
Wood is the core material we work with, but it doesn't always get the credit it deserves. Wood holds natural beauty, is sustainable and, even though it is light, is incredibly strong. It is also shapeable to any form and can be finished to perfection.
A piece you'd love to design one day?
A chair. This said, the furniture market is flooded with chair designs so when we eventually design our own, it can't be just another chair. It will have to be carefully considered and hold meaning for us.

The ability to combine considered shape and materials to create a product that is beautiful as well as functional and has a long lifespan.A South African designer you admire?
Laurie Wiid van Heerden. We had the opportunity to visit his studio recently and it is truly a magical space. We also admire the collaborative work he is doing, the results of which often merge art and design.
If there was one item you could buy right now for your home, what would it be?
Definitely one of Porky Hefer's "seats". We are actually not sure how to label them - is it a nest, a suspended seat, a pod or just a great unusual design?
