Genius backpack allows you to take your cat along on your travels

If you're the sort of person who cringes to leave your pets at home, here's an invention that will set your heart purring - or wagging, whichever best applies.
A New York-based company has launched an astronaut-inspired backpack in which devoted owners can cart around their furry friends.
Featuring a built-in security leash, mesh panels and ventilation holes, plus a dome-shaped peephole to satisfy the most curious of creatures, the adjustable backpack has become a top seller for its American makers, Upet.
According to the company website, the backpack is a "mobile pet bed, in-cabin airplane carrier and car seat all in one (please check airline restrictions before purchase)".
What's more, it says the patent-pending semi-sphere window design provides "a more interesting and safe space, which allows your pets to enjoy the scenery with you and interact with the outside world".
Your pet does have to be of a rather svelte breed, however, to explore the world with you, as the maximum weight the bag can handle is 3.6kg.
Besides the Neil Armstrong-esque peephole, the invention is getting attention for the range of cute designs. There's a host of neon-coloured options, plus one with the US flag on it (for those who really wish to invoke the moon landing).
Cat lover Tom Stevenson, who founded Upet in 2013, says, "As someone who has been through some of life's darkest hours with the company of my cats, I understand that they are far more than just pets - they're our partners in life as well as little angels that have been sent to protect us.
"To show my gratitude for my little angels' companionship, I have dedicated my designs to them."..
