Former president Jacob Zuma, forced out of office this month by his own party, now says he only accepted the job with reluctance and believed at the time someone else would have done it better.
"When I was given this task, certainly I never thought it was a task that I deserved," Zuma said on Friday at a farewell event for Presidency staff at the Union Buildings.
"In my own mind, I thought there were many South Africans who deserved this more than me."
The Sunday Times obtained a video clip of his address, in which he admits to having made mistakes, from the Facebook page of someone who was at the event...
