His credentials as an "activist" include years in the NGO sector where he did nothing much but munch conference sandwiches in-between trying to impress other delegates by pretending to be a modern-day Steve Biko.
Even then, there were signs he had the potential to be a bully.
The actions of this Mampara this week, in which he took a group of followers to the home of Tiso Blackstar Group's editor-at-large Peter Bruce with the aim of intimidating him, expose Andile Mngxitama not only as a greedy Gupta lackey, but as a common thug who thinks he can silence the critics of state capture through terror.
This Mampara wants the world to see in him a champion for the poor when, in fact, he is the greatest defender of a family that not only takes from the poor to pay for a lavish wedding at Sun City, but pays its staff along the same racial lines as the regime that killed Biko...
