We should mourn every death like we did Reeva's

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence kicked off yesterday under the 2017 theme "Leave no one behind". Fittingly, on the eve of the campaign, two of South Africa's most pitiless killers of intimate partners were given long jail terms for their crimes.
Christopher Panayiotou was sentenced to life in prison for masterminding the murder of his wife, Jayde; and Oscar Pistorius saw his sentence for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, increased from six years to 15 years, with credit given for time served.We recognise Jayde and Reeva, and recognise the pain of their families, because their killers' trials played out in full view of the public...
