His party claims to be fighting for a nonsexist society, but Mehana thinks women are subhuman. Thanks to Raymond Sibanga, who recorded his conversation with the reverend, Mehana has now been exposed for the chauvinist that he is.
Luthuli House has moved swiftly by removing Mehana from their January 8 celebrations programme. However, the Methodist Church claims to be investigating the comments. But what is there to probe when this Mampara has confirmed making the comments?
There are many Mehanas hiding behind church robes and clerical collars. The only way to clean up society is to remove them from positions of influence. This Mampara is sorry, not because he realises the foolishness of his comments, but because he got caught...
