Tough one for SuperSport

22 October 2017 - 00:00 By SAZI HADEBE

SuperSport United will start on the back foot in their second leg Caf Confederation Cup semifinal clash against Club Africain at the Stade El Menzah in Tunis tonight.
Kickoff is at 7.30pm.
The newly crowned MTN8 champions left matters hanging by a thread when they failed to capitalise on their homeground advantage in the first leg, drawing 1-1 with the Tunisians in Pretoria.
Africain will go through to the final on November 26 if they can hold Eric Tinkler's side to a goalless draw.
Any draw above a 1-1 score will see SuperSport qualifying for their first continental cup final, which will be a second for Tinkler who lost 2-1 in the final to other Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel with Orlando Pirates in 2015.
While Egyptian clubs Al Ahly (eight) and Zamalek (five) dominate with silverware in the Caf Champions League, it is the Tunisians who are kings in the Confed Cup, with CS Sfaxien on top with three gold medals followed by Du Sahel with two.
Though SuperSport captain Dean Furman agrees that they made matters difficult when they failed to take their chances at home in the first leg, he believes they have got the team to beat Africain even though they will be without injured striker Thabo Mnyamane tonight.
"With all the scoring chances that we had we should have buried the match," Furman said. "But we are now banking on our resilience such as we showed against Zesco [United] in Zambia in the last eight and against Cape Town City in the MTN8 final."..
