Masasa Mbangeni shares why she advocates for therapy for depression
The conversations about anxiety, depression and their effects on people has increased after HHP's death.
HHP's death earlier this week has sparked a conversation about depression and actress Masasa Mbangeni has shared her piece as well highlighting that she's a big advocate for therapy.
HHP died on Wednesday and although the cause of death is yet to be confirmed, he has openly discussed his struggles with depression in the past.
Another artist, award-winning actress Shoki Mokgapa was buried just last month after losing the lengthy battle to clinical depression. Her management confirmed that she took her own life.
Masasa highlighted the fact that therapy is expensive but she had known it to be a great method of dealing with depression.
I’m a huge advocate of therapy . I have recommended many friends to therapists that I have seen over the years . As a freelancing actor , affording therapy has been a challenge . I’ve heard FAMSA has therapist & will be investigating that option . Therapy saves lives!

This is me. When anxiety & depression have me by the balls I often hide , avoid people & in extreme case ,I once changed my phone number . Therapy is what is needed . Because friends are human & limited , in terms of skill, to what they can do. Therapy is expensive. https://t.co/vscW47CtNV

Masasa also shared that she was suffering from PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and implored people to be kind to others as they never know what they are currently dealing with behind their smiles.
Lalla Hirayama also recently opened up about her experiences as a person who was diagnosed with PCOS.
"When I was first diagnosed I felt like I'd been handed a death sentence - I was told that it would be difficult for me to fall pregnant and that I could have a heart attack," she said.
Also being on the pill to manage PCOS ( polycystic ovarian syndrome )&dealing with anxiety & depression is like pouring petrol to fire & throwing a 500ml of Valpre hoping it will not burn your entire house down . Be kind friends ! A lot of folk going through a lot of shitty shit
