Moonchild is gearing towards winning a Grammy as she leaving her mark beyond the borders of Mzansi.

Her timeline was recently flooded with many congratulatory messages from her friends and fans after her name reportedly appeared on the Black Music UK top 20 singles chart shared by Music Week, at number one for her feature on Jelani Blackman single Comfy alongside Trillary Banks.

Moonchild shared a screenshot of her name on the chart among other internationally acclaimed artists.

The chart showed Beyoncé́'s hit Cuff It at number two, and Lil Nas X at four for his song Star Walkin'.

“It's insane because I love her [Beyoncé́] so much. I'm sure she's proud because she's always proud of her princesses because she sees something when she collaborates with you. She chooses you. She definitely recognises magic as well so it's just beautiful,” Moonchild tells TshisaLIVE.

Moonchild's been intentionally infiltrating the UK music mark and says her collaboration with Jelani was organic, which could be why the song was a success.

After meeting the UK rising star through a mutual friend, they spent a night recording a body of work and decided to release Comfy as their first single together.

“I've always seen myself as a global brand and so I'm very intentional and collaboration has always been my language, even to pop commercially in SA because I've always been very different.

“I'm going to get this Grammy. I'm a story teller and there's no genre I can't do. I'm very clear about where I'm going and I get very shocked when I tick a box. I get surprised every time. I'm exactly where I belong.”

Moonchild says she's still got a lot more to offer and is set to release a dance EP on November 7 where her main single features American rapper Jidenna, among others.
