There's no doubt Mihlali Ndamase is a big deal, and the headlines she hogged in 2022 attest to that.

Mihlali has many fans and often lands on the Twitter trends list just because she can. However, more than slaying and getting her bag, 2022 saw Mihlali trend for her love life more than most things.

Here are the three top things she trended for on the socials.

Love

In August, after months of keeping quiet, businessman Leeroy Sidambe spoke about speculation surrounding his relationship with Mihlali.

Tongues had been wagging about her new relationship when people speculated that  Leeroy's estranged wife, Mary Jane, had not signed divorce papers.

Leeroy took to social media to clear the air. In his statement he revealed he had parted ways with Mary Jane in March this year and, while separated, he found love with Mihlali as they were free to “move on in whatever manner” they saw fit “as single individuals”.

While the couple have been leading a private life, Leeroy said he chose to speak up because of constant cyberbullying his girlfriend was receiving on social media, with some labelling her a home wrecker.

“I met a women I fell in love with. It has been heartbreaking to see her name dragged daily on social media for loving me loudly and boldly. The constant harassment she receives, instigated by my estranged wife's associates, is unbearable and quite frankly not safe for anyone's mental wellbeing.

“Mihlali Ndamase, like us all, is human and has a right to follow her heart on who she loves. She is a self-sufficient woman who has astutely run her business, and does not deserve this kind of hateful intrusion upon her life and work.

“I can no longer turn a blind eye to the effect cyberbullying has had on her. The constant defaming of those who work in the public space has to stop.”

Money and soft life

Earlier this year the YouTuber and beauty influencer apologised for an angry rant about nonpayment in an earlier post, saying she was sorry fans had to see that side of her.

“Hey, my loves. So I wanted to take a moment to sincerely apologise to you guys for what you were exposed to this morning,” she wrote.

“It’s very unfortunate that it had to get to that point, but once you’ve exhausted your options, what else can you resort to? Sincerest apologies. I’m sorry you guys had to see that side of me. Hopefully it will never come out again.”

All is well that ends well because sis got her money and proceeded to live her best life, looking stunning while she does it.

Clapback queen

Mihlali is no stranger to charting the Twitter trends list, and lately trolls have had a field day dragging her on Twitter.

However, she has managed to mize the trolls

When Bonang said “They have to talk about you because when they talk about themselves nobody listens”, she was on to something and Mihlali is one instance where B's wisdom rings true.

While she'll sometime include a vague clapback, Mihlali has often opted not to give people what they want (an in into her private life). Instead her cryptic tweets have left Twitter messy.

With her Twitter username having included “Hot-Topic”, girl was probs taking a jab at those who can't keep her name out of their mouths.
