SA rapper Cassper Nyovest, choreographer Bontle Modiselle and illustrator Karabo Poppy jetted off to the states recently for the NBA All-Star Weekend.

In celebrating the 30th anniversary of the NBA All-Star Weekend games, which made its return to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the first time since the first game of the league, NBA Africa flew down Mzansi’s stars as well as Nigeria’s Tobi Bakare and Ladipoe to witness the occasion.

The NBA All-Star Weekend, a weekend festival held every February during the the NBA regular season, which consists of basketball events, exhibitions and performances before the exhibition game.

All-Star team captains LeBron James (LA Lakers) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) went head to head at the Vivint Arena on Sunday evening. 

Multi-award-winning actor Vin Diesel welcomed the fans for the evening.

Grammy award-nominated artist Jewel will sing the US national anthem. 

Nigerian superstars Rema, Grammy award-winning singers Burna Boy and Tems headlined the halftime show with an Afrobeats performance. 

After their performance, the NBA family honoured LeBron James for becoming the league’s all-time scoring leader. 

Post Malone also performed a medley of his hit songs.
