5 simple ways to refresh your office on a budget

The holidays are a distant memory and we're all trying to get back into a routine as we swap out the beach for the boardroom.
To help get you into the swing of things we spoke to Monya Eastman of Stokperd, a local furniture and homeware company that also offers office makeovers, who shares five tips for refreshing your workspace without breaking the bank.1. DECLUTTER
Most office spaces (much like our homes) are filled with unnecessary clutter and the best way to freshen up is to tackle this. Throw out files and papers that you no longer need. When you're left with only the essentials, find practical places to store them and do it in a way that's pleasing to the eye.
If you have cupboard space, put them away neatly behind closed doors. If you don't, think of bringing in a functional unit that can take care of the problem.
2. CABLING
Nothing jars the senses more than wires running amok. Sorting these out with cable trays or charging stations will make the world of difference to your office.
3. CHILL ZONE
Whether you're working from home or in an office, make sure your workspace has an attractive area where you can relax and enjoy lunch or down-time during the day.
A comfy sofa, a rug and a few plants will pull this area together and turn it into a little oasis where you can catch your breath during a busy day.4. PLANTS
Start by getting rid of the stragglers. Many office spaces have dead plants lurking in the corners. Clear them out and bring in some fresh ones. Head to a garden shop and buy some hardy succulents (which are water-wise and difficult to kill) or proper indoor plants. Put them in attractive pots and remember to water them as needed. Nothing kills karma faster than dead leaves...
