Nat Geo Barbies aim to inspire little girls to become career explorers

National Geographic has teamed up with toymaker Mattel to produce a new range of Barbie dolls with travel-related careers.
The five dolls, which will be available later this year, will all have occupations centred on exploration, science, conservation and research.
They are a wildlife conservationist, a polar marine biologist, a wildlife photojournalist, an entomologist and an astrophysicist.
Each doll will come with her own set of accessories relevant to the job.
Lonely Planet reports that the dolls were created with the help of National Geographic's editor in chief Susan Goldberg, along with an all-female panel of National Geographic explorers.
The professions were selected as those that are traditionally under-represented by women, Goldberg said.
"Through our partnership with Barbie, we are excited to reach kids in a new way, using the power of play to inspire our next generation of explorers, scientists and photographers."
The dolls and accompanying playsets will be priced from $14.99 (R207)...
